DiscoGen: A Claygent Alternative with BYOK
DiscoGen provides company research with bring-your-own model and search keys. Orchestration has no provider markup; subscription, record, model, and search costs should be evaluated separately.
· updated October 6, 2026

If you use Claygent to research companies, the useful comparison is the full cost of getting a verified answer. Model quality, search depth, company context, and review time all affect that number.
DiscoGen offers an alternative approach: bring your own model and search API keys and run research against company profiles in DiscoLike.
What DiscoGen does
DiscoGen turns a research question into a column for each company. It supplies company information and homepage text as context, then runs the task using the configured model and search provider.
You can ask about leadership, funding announcements, product offerings, or evidence of ICP fit. Define the output fields and require sources for claims that depend on external research.
What “free orchestration” means
DiscoLike does not add a markup to usage billed through your own model and search keys. Those providers still charge for their services, and your DiscoLike subscription and record usage are separate.
A fair comparison includes all those costs. Check the current DiscoLike vs Claygent comparison and each provider’s plan terms before estimating a production workload.
How to run a useful comparison
Take a sample of companies representing your real market. Use the same research question and acceptance criteria in both tools.
Record the number of answers that are supported, incorrect, or unresolved. Check source URLs manually for a subset. Divide total usage cost by accepted answers, then include the time spent reviewing them.
A lower cost per row is useful only if the rows answer the question correctly.
Use DiscoGen in your existing stack
You can work in DiscoLike or integrate through API and MCP. A Clay subscription is not required. The supported provider configuration determines which models and search services you can use.
Start with homepage-only validation when the answer should already be on the company site. Add web search for questions that require other sources or recent events.
Review pricing and test a representative research sample before moving a large workflow.
