Claude Code and MCP for GTM Workflows

I asked Claude Code to read a client list, segment it, and show the top three segments with three examples each. With DiscoLike MCP connected, it loaded the file, selected the available tools, and returned the requested breakdown.

That is a practical alternative for GTM work that would otherwise require a sequence of manually configured steps. It also changes what a useful integration needs to expose: clear operations, inspectable results, and a way to refine the request.

From a customer file to new target accounts

The next request was to extend each segment with lookalikes: 1,000 small and mid-sized US businesses per segment for a client expanding from Europe.

The workflow follows a clear sequence:

  1. Read and validate the customer domains.
  2. Segment the companies by business characteristics.
  3. Review representative accounts in each segment.
  4. Search for similar companies with the requested location and size constraints.
  5. Validate and deduplicate the results before export.

Natural language expresses the task. DiscoLike’s tools supply the company data and search operations.

Where MCP helps

MCP gives the assistant a way to call connected tools. A user can request a segment or revise a search in conversation while the underlying service handles retrieval.

This can reduce the setup work for exploratory projects. Repeated production workflows still need monitoring, reliable storage, error handling, and controls over external actions.

How to compare this with a Clay workflow

Run the same customer file and qualification criteria through both approaches. Compare accepted accounts, review time, total cost, and how easily you can reproduce the result.

A conversational interface may suit rapid research. A visual workflow may suit a team that wants a shared process with familiar controls. The data source remains a separate decision.

Explore DiscoLike MCP to connect company search to your agent workflow. Start with a list you know well so you can judge the segments before expanding them.
