AI Account Signals: Research the Public Web

AI search can extract public account signals from company pages, job listings, and announcements. Those signals need sources and dates, and do not replace private intent datasets.

AI Account Signals: Research the Public Web

Hiring, funding, expansion, and technology changes often leave evidence on the public web. AI search makes it easier to investigate those events for a target account list without building a separate extraction pipeline for every source.

That changes the economics of public-signal research. It does not make every paid dataset obsolete, and it does not make model and search usage free.

Which account signals can AI research?

Start with questions that have observable answers: has a company announced a new office, published relevant job openings, or described a platform migration?

Useful sources include company announcements, careers pages, regulatory filings, and attributable interviews. A public announcement can support a claim about an event. It cannot reveal a company’s private purchase process.

Write a prompt that produces usable evidence

Here is an illustrative prompt for expansion research:

Find public evidence that this company announced a new office in the past six months. Return the location, announcement date, source URL, and a short supporting excerpt. Distinguish a planned opening from an operating office. Return “unknown” if you cannot verify it.

Provide the company name, domain, location, and business description so the model can distinguish similarly named organizations. Save the source and date alongside the answer.

Validate signals before scoring accounts

Check whether the event is recent, whether it concerns the correct company, and whether it matters to your offer. A job opening may be a replacement hire. A new partnership may have little budget behind it.

Review an initial sample manually. Count verified signals and unsupported answers separately, then calculate research cost per verified result.
