Can Gemini Estimate B2B Website Traffic?
Gemini can research public traffic evidence, but search grounding does not establish access to a company’s private Analytics data. Treat unsupported visitor estimates as unknown.

B2B websites with limited public traffic data are difficult to evaluate. Asking Gemini for an estimate can produce a confident number, but the number is useful only if you can identify its source and method.
Use Gemini to research and explain available evidence. Its connection to Google Search gives you a route to public sources, rather than a basis for assuming it can read a prospect’s private analytics.
What Google Search grounding provides
Google documents Gemini’s search grounding as a connection to current web content with source citations. That supports public-web research; it does not establish access to another company’s private GA4 property. See Google’s grounding documentation.
A Google Analytics tag on a website indicates a measurement implementation. Its presence does not reveal visitor counts, channel mix, or conversions to an outside researcher.
Separate measurements from estimates
A company-published traffic figure may be useful if it specifies the period and metric. A third-party estimate needs a provider and methodology. An unsupported model-generated number belongs in neither category.
Be careful about comparing visits, unique visitors, organic clicks, and pageviews. They describe different quantities, even when all are presented as “traffic.”
A better research prompt
Find public evidence about this domain’s website traffic. For each figure, provide the original source URL, reporting period, metric, and whether it is measured or estimated. Return “unknown” if there is no attributable figure. Do not infer traffic from an Analytics tag.
Check the returned source directly. If it cannot support the number, remove the number from your account scoring.
Qualify B2B accounts without inventing traffic
Traffic may be a weak proxy for the value of a specialized B2B company. Product focus, customer type, geography, and relevant technology can be more directly connected to your ICP.
Use DiscoLike for those company characteristics and DiscoGen for sourced follow-up research. Start with a known customer segment and add traffic only where you have a defensible reason and evidence to use it.
