Insurance covers carriers that underwrite risk, the agencies and brokers that distribute policies, and the advisory firms built around them. Assignment follows what the site sells, which carries the group into financial advisors, mortgage lenders and benefits brokers.

Agencies outnumber carriers nearly four to one: 388,272 against 99,284. A list built on “insurance companies” without that split is mostly local agencies.
